Gwydir

Gwydir Shire Council tendered for the development of a LGA-wide Sustainability Strategy and the creation of a new Local Environment Plan (LEP) for the entire newly-amalgamated Shire. The brief related to key strategic directions both locally and regionally.  A requirement of the brief was to draw on existing work regarding a sustainability plan previously developed for Bingara Shire Council which directly responded to the recent amalgamation of three local government areas into Gwydir Shire Council, and the associated implications for organisational integration and change management.

Willana’s role was to providing input into the consultation process regarding Draft LEP outcomes and review all material for the draft LEP including providing some words in the situation analysis on the current LEP’s for the old Shires and the work on the current Draft LEP already undertaken. A key role was in the preparation of the draft LEP with input from team members.
